Ralph Linton était un anthropologue américain né en1893 et décédé en 1953. Il a notamment étudié l'anthropologie culturelle. Dans "Memorandum for the study of acculturation" , il définit l'acculturation comme les étant les phénomènes liés au contact entre deux groupes de culture différente.
