L'Église Hillsong est une église protestante évangélique pentecôtiste. La première église Hillsong se trouve en Australie, à Sydney. Mais d'autres églises ont vu le jour à Waterloo (Sydney, Australie), Londres(Angleterre), à Kiev (Ukraine) et Paris (France). Elle a été fondée par le pasteur Brian Houston (lui-même fils de pasteur) et sa femme Bobbie en aôut 1983 après leur installation à Sydney en 1978 en provenance de Nouvelle-Zélande. L'église est membre du mouvement des assemblées de Dieu Australien; elle est aussi membre de L'Alliance Evangélique Mondiale. A l'origine l'église s'appelait "Hills Christian Life Center" mais par la popularité grandissante de ses cantiques, surtout au niveau international, labélisés "Hillsong" (Hills songs: Chants de Hills,chants de la colline) par Integrity Music aux États-Unis, Royaume-Uni et dans le reste du monde, l'église changea définitivement son nom en "Hillsong" en 1998. Au début en 1983, l'église comptait 45 individus. En 2006, l'église Hillsong compta 22 000 membres en Australie, 6 000 à Londres, 5 000 à Kiev et 500 à Paris. Elle possède un Institut Biblique de renommée internationale (Hillsong College) à Sydney accueillant entre 900 à 1000 étudiants venant du monde entier et de toutes les dénominations.

La musique et les cantiques d'Hillsong sont connus parmi les églises protestantes et les groupes chrétiens du monde. Des chants comme "Power of Your Love" de Geoff Bullock ou "Shout to The Lord" de Darlene Zschech ou plus récemment "One Way", "Tell The World" ou "Hosanna" sont devenus des louanges de Dieu chantées dans les églises chaque dimanche par près de 30 millions de fidèles. Hillsong a réalisé plus de 50 albums depuis 1992 et en a vendu plus de 12 millions.
