Carl Lotus Becker (1873–1945) était un historien américain né à Waterloo (Iowa). Il fit ses études à l'université du Wisconsin-Madison. Frederick Jackson Turner fut son conseiller doctoral. Il enseigna à l'université Cornell entre 1917 et 1941.
