Thomas Merton

Thomas Merton (1915-1968) est un écrivain, un religieux trappiste et un activiste social américain. Il était l'un des auteurs spirituels catholiques les plus influents du XXe siècle.

Auteur de plus de soixante livres, il était un grand partisan du dialogue inter-religieux, étant connu pour ses dialogues avec le Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hanh et D.T. Suzuki. Sa vie fut écourtée à l'âge de 53 ans lorsqu'il fut électrocuté en sortant de son bain.
