Le South Coast Plaza est le plus grand centre commercial de la côte ouest des États-Unis, il est situé à Costa Mesa, dans le Comté d'Orange à 50 km au sud du centre-ville de Los Angeles. C'est le troisième centre commercial des États-Unis, en terme de surface de vente, avec 250 840 m², après le King of Prussia Mall et le Mall of America.

Le South Coast Plaza est un des centre commercial le plus visité dans le monde, avec environ 24 millions de visiteurs par an.

Le South Coast Plaza fut inauguré en mars 1967 grâce à Henry J. Segerstrom, le propriétaire de l'entreprise C.J. Segerstrom & Sons. L'architecte du bâtiment original était Victor Gruen.
