Français : Le Yamato (大和), était un cuirassé de premier rang de la marine impériale japonaise, le plus grand cuirassé jamais construit. Vétéran de Truk, de la bataille de la mer des Philippines et de la bataille du golfe de Leyte, il fut coulé le 7 avril 1945 au large d'Okinawa.
日本語: 大和（やまと）は、大日本帝国海軍が建造した大和型戦艦の一番艦。しばしば大艦巨砲主義の象徴とされる。 大東亜戦争開戦直後に竣工し、配備と同時に、司令部設備に改良が施された同型艦 武蔵が配備されるまでの間、連合艦隊旗艦を務めた。
