Description: THE BATTLE OF THE SOMME 1 JULY - 18 NOVEMBER 1916:

The Virgin hanging from the Church of Notre Dame in Albert. The soldiers' legend said that when the Virgin, which had been hit by German fire fell, the war would end. Engineers made the statue secure but it finally fell in 1918
