Hello Christian,

I will not go against what you undertook, but I have to let you know that I am strongly opposed to renaming foreign names with a writing that does not use the francophone alphabets and diacritiques. As a French-speaking encyclopedia, it is fr.WP duty to put this "foreign" writing forward and explain it, but I am shocked it should be used as reference and topic title. The main reason can compare to the lesser surprise principle, since the visitor will first wonder why the name is written differently. A second reason is that it is impossible to a standard French keyboard (may it be from France, Canadian, Swiss or Belgian) to reach directly the topic without a redirect. It is a minor point, but psychologically speaking, it adds an obstacle in accessing information.

A dispute over the matter (plain writing vs. original writing) has been raging on fr.WP some months ago, nothing has been decided so far and it seems nobody really dares to set it up again, and thus you will find many people that will go your way, but you will also find many people like me who strongly oppose it!
