Michael Jeter est un acteur et réalisateur américain né le 26 août 1952 à Lawrenceburg, Tennessee (États-Unis), mort du sida le 30 mars 2003 à Los Angeles (Californie).

Acteur de théâtre et de cinéma, il était connu comme second rôle dans des films comme Drop Zone, Waterworld, Las Vegas Parano, La Ligne Verte (où il incarnait Ed Delacroix, le détenu avec la souris Mr. Jingle), Jurassic Park 3 et Open range, l'un de ses derniers films.

En 1990 au théâtre, il fut récompensé d'un Tony Award pour sa prestation dans Grand Hotel, une pièce musical

Il était séropositif depuis 1997.
