Onboard a patrol boat, an Italian Marine, with a Beretta 5.56 mm SC70/90 assault rifle, from the Italian Maestrale class frigate, ITS SCIROCCO (F 573), in the background, sets security for his team to safely board a local cargo dhow to conduct a search of the vessel. SCIROCCO, along with an AB212ASW helicopter, remains close by to provide additional security and guidance to the boarding team. The multinational Combined Task Force 150 (CTF-150) established to monitor, inspect, board, and stop suspect shipping to pursue the war on terrorism, and includes operations currently taking place in the North Arabia Sea to support Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Countries contributing to CTF-150 currently include Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Pakistan, New Zealand, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States. |
