Tsering Shakya ou Tsering Wangdu Shakya est un historien tibétain.

Tsering Shakya est né au Tibet à Lhassa. Il s'est enfui en Inde après l'invasion chinoise. Il a vécu à Londres où il obtenu une bourse d'étude, et a obtenu un diplôme de la School of Oriental and African Studies, une Université de Londres avec un B.A. Honours in Social Anthropology and South Asian History. Il s'est consacré à des recherches sur l'histoire du Tibet, et a obtenu son Master of Philosophy sur ses études tibétaines en 2000 et son Philosophiæ doctor en 2004 . Il est l'auteur de nombreux essais et articles, et de livres sur l'histoire du Tibet.
