English : Second step of a kinetic Monte-Carlo simulation, illustrated in the case of four possible final states. The state you go into is determined by a random var uniformly distributed between 0 and Γ_tot = Σ Γ_j. If the random var falls between 0 and Γ₁, the system goes into state 1; between Γ₁ and Γ₁+Γ₂ it goes into state 2, etc.

L'état dans lequel on va est déterminé par une variable aléatoire uniformément répartie entre 0 et Γ_tot = Σ Γ_j. Si la variable aléatoire tombe entre 0 and Γ₁, le système va dans l'état 1; entre Γ₁ et Γ₁+Γ₂ il va dans l'état 2, etc.
