j'aime bien les listes... en voilà une que j'avais recopiée du magazine en question (uniquement les titres, pas les 7-8 pages de commentaires) et que en:wiki a supprimée (copyvio)

[modifier] Liste: Vanity Fair’s 50 greatest films of all time

In its issue dated September 2005 (with Jennifer Aniston on the cover), the magazine Vanity Fair presented its 50 greatest films of all time (in alphabetical order):

In fact there are 51 lines presenting 52 movies (because of Coppola’s two Godfathers). No author is named, just Vanity Fair. There are no criterions explained for the choices.

Some directors get two nominations in this list (Francis Ford Coppola, Michael Curtiz, Victor Fleming, Howard Hawks, Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick and Jean Renoir) and Billy Wilder is the only one to get three, which means one third of all 52 nominations!

42 movies are American (that’s vanity fair!) which make 80% of all 52 movies, the rest of the world getting 10 movies (20%).

2 movies were produced in the 20s, 10 in the 30s, 9 in the 40s, 8 in 50s, 9 in the 60s, 9 in the 70s, 2 in the 80s, 2 in the 90s and finally 1 in 2003.
