Cet article est né de la suppression de l'article Liste de chansons ayant trait à l'homosexualité. Suite à un débat constructif et afin de ne pas s'exposer à nouveau à des risques de WP:TI, ne sont acceptables dans l'article que les chansons traitant clairement de l'homosexualité à partir des années 1950 (que ce soit de façon négative ou positive). Pour ce qui est des décennies précédentes, les critères sont plus souples y compris sur la question de l'homophobie, l'ambiguïté étant l'essence même de ces chansons. De même, seuls les artistes ayant ouvertement affiché leur homo- ou bisexualité peuvent être mentionnés dans la catégorie "personnalités". Le sujet pouvant être polémique, il est fortement recommandé de sourcer toutes les informations.
