Fred MacMurray est un acteur et producteur américain né le 30 août 1908 à Kankakee, Illinois (États-Unis), décédé le 5 novembre 1991 à Santa Monica (Californie). De son vrai nom Fredrick Martin MacMurray.

Il commence sa carrière comme chanteur dans un orchestre puis tente sa chance comme figurant a Hollywood.

Peu a peu, il s'impose dans un genre qui lui va comme un gang : la comédie. Il sert de faire-valoir à Claudette Colbert, Jean Arthur, Irene Dunne, Carole Lombard et même Marlène Dietrich.

On le retrouve dans les années 50 dans des westerns et des films exotiques.
