Augustus Saint-Gaudens (né à Dublin le 1er mars 1848 - mort à Cornish le 3 août, 1907), était un sculpteur américain d'origine irlandaise et dont le père était cordonnier à Aspet France. Il grandit à New York et voyagea en Europe afin d'étudier les beaux-arts. Il réalisa de nombreux monuments glorifiant les héros de la guerre de Sécession comme le mémorial dédié à Robert Gould Shaw à Boston, celui du général John A. Logan à Chicago et celui de William Tecumseh Sherman à Central Park. Il dessina aussi une pièce d'or de 20 dollars en 1905-1907.
