Art Acord, de son vrai nom Arthemus Ward Acord est un acteur américain né le 17 avril 1890 à Stillwater en Oklahoma, Suicide par overdose d'arsenic le 4 janvier 1931 a Chihuahua au Mexique.

Champion de rodéo, il sera d’ailleurs sacré champion du monde de cette discipline en 1912 et en 1916, et véritable cow-boy, il a réalisé le début des Westerns muets. Sa carrière en tant que cascadeur et acteur a commencé dans les studios de la "Southern California" en 1900, et c'est terminée vers la fin des années 1920.

Bien que la police mexicaine ait considérée sa mort comme un suicide, plusieurs amis d'Art Acord ont insisté, au cours des années qui ont suivie, sur le fait qu'il avait été assassiné par un politicien mexicain, ayant eut une liaison avec son épouse.
